Dr Garvey was appointed as Senior Lecturer Consultant in Orthodontics in 1996. Thérèse graduated from the Dental School at Trinity College Dublin in 1982. She completed her Postgraduate training in 1992 in the Guys Hospital, London. Since 1998 she has been a Visiting Consultant at the National Maxillofacial Unit at St. James’s Hospital.
Thérèse was chair of the Irish Committee for Specialist Training in Dentistry from 2006 – 2009. She was a member of the Dental Council from 2006 – 2010 during which time she was Chairman of the Examinations Board and Auxiliary Dental Workers Committee and served on the Education and Training Committee. She is currently the postgraduate programme director in Orthodontics.
