“Leading the Way in the Care of Oral Cancer”
The Dublin Dental University Hospital will be hosting a Continuing Professional Development day for all members of the dental team on Saturday 8th September 2018 at Dublin Dental University Hospital, Dublin.
The informative lectures on the day relate to Oral Cancer – from diagnosis, prevention, patient care and the creation of prosthesis for patients post-treatment.
Lectures will be delivered from experts in the field.
- Dr Healy will discuss what signs we need to look for in patients related to head and neck cancers
- Prof Coleman will discuss the currently topical issue of the HPV viruses, how they are transmitted, links to cervical and head and neck cancers and the safety and effectiveness of HPV vaccines.
- Ms Bernie Carter will discuss her experience working with patients in Ireland with head and neck cancer with an emphasis on risk factors and prevention.
- Mr Mulcare will discuss the impressive different types of prosthesis created in the prosthodontic laboratory for head and neck cancer patients post-treatment.
- Ms Sandra Joyce will discuss from a dental hygienist’s view – how to treat and manage patients oral health during cancer treatment.
