Dr Alison Dougall inaugurated as President of the International Association of Disability and Oral Health (iADH)
Dr Alison Dougall has been inaugurated as the president of the International Association of Disability and Oral Health (iADH) at its general assembly meeting last Saturday 3rd of October. Dr Dougall has had a long and active involvement with iADH, beginning as an emerging young researcher later involved as chair of the education committee, the secretary, the editor and finally chair of the executive board. Alison is Consultant for Medically Compromised Patients at Dublin Dental Hospital and Director of the 3 year Special Care Dentistry taught Doctorate programme at Trinity College Dublin. Dr Dougall was the co-author of the iADH curriculum for training at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and has taught SCD and sedation to dentists, hygienists, therapists and dental nurses for over 20 years. She is a passionate advocate, campaigning for increased access to services for people with disabilities and also recognition and rights for the teams that care for them.
