Oral Microbiome group win best poster presentation at OPMD day in Antwerp.

The Oral Potentially Malignant Disorder (OPMD) day conference was held in Antwerp (August 30^th-31^st) and was attended by clinicians, pathologists and basic scientists from across Europe. The DDUH Oral Microbiome research group won the prize for best poster presentation with their study “Fusobacterium nucleatum recovered from OPMD induce cell migration and angiogenesis in vitro”. The study was carried out jointly by PhD students Ajith Selvaraj and Claire Crowley. Ajith’s PhD was supported by TCD through a Provost’s Scholarship award and Claire’s PhD is current supported by a grant from the Health Research Board.
